Abstract
The Monte Carlo method for a vortex system has been used to study the effect of an almost instantaneously activated supercritical current on an HTS sample containing defects – pinning centers. The calculated forms of the superconductor’s response to the pulse correspond qualitatively to the experiment. The dependence of the increment of the sample temperature on the time elapsed since the pulse was turned on is analyzed. This dependence is linear away from the critical temperature. The dependences of the increment of the sample temperature on the amplitude of the current in the pulse are approximated by a power dependence of the form y = Axα, with α = 2.5–3. The increment of the sample temperature in an external magnetic field does not depend on the magnitude of the field at a constant value of the transport current, and decreases slightly with an increase in the field as the flow mode of the vortex lattice changes.
Keywords: high-temperature superconductor (HTS); Abrikosov vortex; critical current; pinning.
